After graduating in LLB Law (Honours) at university, Waheed went on to complete his professional Bar exams and qualified as a Barrister-at-law.
Waheed then joined the civil service, where he worked across various central government departments including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Home Office. He held various roles, including representing the Secretary of State in courts and tribunals, as well as working in other areas of immigration, policing and Counter-Terrorism.
Waheed joined the Metropolitan Police in 2014, where he worked within the Counter-Terrorism Command (SO15), National CT Police HQ and also within the London Boroughs of Enfield, Waltham Forest and Newham.
Waheed moved to Essex Police in 2022 and worked as the South LPA Commander, until starting his current role as the Head of Strategic Partnership, Engagement and Prevention.
In terms of hobbies and interests, Waheed is a keen gym user and enjoys watching movies and boxsets.
