It was held at Harlow college at the end of last month and highlighted careers in social care, nursing, allied health professionals (AHPs), midwifery, healthcare science, pharmacy, medicine and ambulance services.
With students from schools and colleges from around the area attending the event, the room was bustling with young people as representatives from Princess Alexandra Hospital Trust (PAHT), Essex Partnership University Trust (EPUT), ECL Person-centred Care and East of England Ambulance Service helped them consider the different career options as they plan their futures.
The ambulance service provided a vehicle for students to explore and taught them the valuable skill of CPR. Members of the academy’s work experience and apprenticeship team were also present.
Event organiser Niki Galvin, the academy’s Engagement Officer, said: “Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this. These events take time and hard work to organise but the excitement, atmosphere and opportunity it gives our colleagues and students makes it all worthwhile. I can’t wait to arrange the next one.”
The academy’s next careers event is the Hertfordshire careers expo which is being held at the University of Hertfordshire on 23 April.
