From 1 April 2026, two new organisations will be responsible for planning and overseeing NHS services for local people. The last day of operation for Hertfordshire and West Essex ICB is 31 March 2026.
From 1 April 2026, Hertfordshire will join a new single organisation serving 3.5 million people across Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Peterborough called NHS Central East Integrated Care Board (ICB) and west Essex residents will join Essex ICB. This change relates only to how the ICB is organised and governed. It does not affect where you currently receive your healthcare or where you go for appointments.
