The day will be held at Wodson Park Sports and Leisure Centre in Ware. There will be a chance to try a range of activities including chair yoga, indoor bowls, walking sports, singing, seated cricket and much more.
The event is being organised by Herts Sport and Physical Activity Partnership and the University of Hertfordshire. It will focus on celebrating the power of movement in helping older adults, especially those living with dementia, to enable them to stay active, independent and social connected.
There’s no pressure to book activities on the day – just drop in when you can.
There will also be a chance to meet local community groups and learn about the resources and support available that is tailored for people living with dementia.
More than 14,600 people aged over 65 in Hertfordshire are currently living with dementia, which is expected to rise by 2030.
Whether you’re living with dementia or supporting someone who is, this day is designed to uplift, empower and celebrate the benefits of staying active together.
It’s free to attend and lunch and parking are free too.
All you have to do is book your place to attend the day.
