
This week has been armed forces week, a chance to show your support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving personnel to Service families, veterans and cadets
The week ends with Armed Forces Day which takes place on the last Saturday each June, falling this year on 28 June.
The ICB, along with our partners, are committed to ensuring members of the Armed Forces Community have fair and easy access to health and social care services.
The week also includes Reserves Day (25 June), which provides the country with an opportunity to recognise our Reserve Forces. As part of the Armed Forces Covenant the ICB is committed to planning in health and social care support for veterans, reservists, serving and former members of the armed forces and their families living and working in this area.
OpCommunity is a single phone number and email address for members of the Armed Forces Community to contact if they need advice and support about health and social care. Open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We will respond within 48 working hours and have an answer to your enquiry or referral within five working days. OpCourage is an NHS mental health specialist service for serving personnel leaving the military, including reservists, veterans and their families. Further information about OpCourage can be found on the NHS website.
Many of our GP practices are now accredited as veteran friendly, meaning staff have gone through additional training to support our veterans.
