The national BAME Health and Care Awards, now in their fifth year, recognise and celebrate the unsung heroes of the NHS and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic health and care services.
Valerie, who is with the Hertfordshire and West Essex Health and Care Academy and runs the ICDP, is an inspirational and supportive course leader and has been shortlisted in the Educator of the Year and Outstanding BAME Achievement of the Year categories.
Valerie said: “I was very surprised but deeply honoured to be nominated and shortlisted for two categories in the national BAME Health and Care Awards 2024.
“This is not only a proud moment for me and my family but for the participants, alumni, facilitators, and those who nominated me and the ICS. It is encouraging to continue upholding the intention and standards of the programme. It also serves as a reminder that each small effort made can create a significant impact and is encouraging for me to persist in coaching, mentoring and developing others to achieve their desired aspirations.”
We wish Valerie the very best of luck for the awards ceremony, which will take place in London on Thursday 26 September when the winners will be announced.
